Professor Ron is currently the President Elect of BAM (Bacteriology and Applied Microbiology) in the International Union of Microbiological Societies. She received her MSc cum laude from Israel’s Hebrew University in 1962 and her PhD from Harvard University in 1967. She is known for the bioremediation of Haifa beach from oil pollution in 1998, and is a world leader in combating environmental pollution with Bacteria. Dr. Wu is the president of the Scientific and Technical Commission of the International Federation of Fruit Juice Producers (IFU, based in Paris). He is a member of the editorial board and an associate editor for both Journal of Food Science and Journal of Food Processing and Preservation. He is also a fellow of IFT (Institute of Food Technologists, based in Chicago).
